Ahoy readers, this is Sailor Jerri and today we will be talking about tushie pushin’. Also known as: The Anus. The Bootay. The Equal Opportunity Orifice.Whatever you name it “the Butt” and “Butt Sex” is a loaded subject that can be really fun but also challenging to broach with a lover, let-alone yourself.

So here are the facts: Most people participate in anal sex and enjoy the sensation. Now with that said, keep in mind that MOST people’s initial approach to anal sex is often overzealous and may have resulted in pain so it is normal to feel hesitant to participate in anal sex.

The skin on the anus and in the rectum is called “soft tissue” and is more similar to the skin on your mouth or around your eyes than the skin on the rest of your body and therefore is very sensitive and prone to irritation and micro-tearing and therefore more likely to be infected by STIs. This is important to keep in mind that your risk factor goes up with anal intercourse so remember to use barriers like condoms or dental dams with folks you are not fluid bonded with.

So how do you have “Butt Secks” and enjoy it? Many folks think you need to douche or have an enema before anal sex but that is not the case, in fact this is more likely to loosen stool which is what many folks are trying to avoid. There are three basic rules of Butt Play: Lube, lube and MORE LUBE! Use twice as much lubricant as you think you should, then use twice as much MORE! The anus is an example of an orifice that is not self-lubricating, therefore any form of anal play will require the use of lubrication. Look for a lubricant that is very viscous or thick, often these lubricants are referred to as “Gels”. Or if you don’t like a thick lubricant try a silicone lubricant, because silicone is inert your body will not absorb it and you won’t need to reapply as much as a water-based lubricant. However, silicone lube involves more clean-up.

Avoid lubricants that claim to numb or contain numbing ingredients like Lidocaine. You may think that numbing will help in the process however what it really does is make you more likely to hurt yourself, but you don’t realize it until the next day.

Pressure is normal, discomfort during adjustment to insertion is normal. But pain is your body telling you that you need to adjust your position or re-apply lubricant. Most folks try to approach new sex acts by trying to do what they have seen in porn, but remember those folks are professionals and they have editing. So even though you may not see lube or foreplay, it’s there! Oral stimulation like anallingus is a great way to warm up before an anal session. Additionally the sex-position you most often see is doggie-style however the easiest way to approach anal sex is in the spooning position with the penetrator behind making it easier for the little-spoon to control the depth of penetration.

Rather than than pushing let your anus pull the object in. After all the anus is a vacuum. Yes a vacuum, which means TOYS CAN GET STUCK IN YOUR BUTT! Many people find that toys can be a great way to increase pleasure, stimulate relaxation, and reduce risk. Be sure that your toy is made of a material that is easy to keep clean (for example, medical-grade or food-grade silicone) and won’t collect bacteria. The shape of anal toys is very important as well, anal toys need to be a simple shape with no creases to collect bacteria and MOST IMPORTANTLY the toy must have a hilt. Much like the hilt of a sword keeps it from falling into its scabbard the hilt of a butt toy (be it a plug, anal beads, a dildo, or a vibrator) keeps it from being slurped into your bootay.

One more little factoid male-bodied folks also have a prostate, the magic little p-spot. And stimulating this will result in an internal orgasm and much like a g-spot orgam this is a very different sensation than an external orgasm. And new research indicates that prostate stimulation can decrease your chance of getting prostate cancer (and when it comes to a choice between cancer and orgasms, that is an easy one!). When a straight male-bodied person is analy stimulated by a woman with a dildo it is called "pegging" . This term became the winning entry in a contest in Dan Savage's "Savage Love" sex advice column, held after an observation was made that there was no common name for the act. And remember an act does not an identity make. So don’t worry taking it up the butt doesn’t make you gay.

Remember sailors, “practice makes perfect” so feel free to analy masterbate. So enjoy setting sail on the high seas of seat surfing and remember all grand adventures take time but the point is to enjoy the journey! GO F YOURSELF!
